San Antonio, Texas hip hop is well represented by a native son, Pe$o. Living in San Antonio since birth, and always staying loyal to his city, the artist is certainly one who is on the rise in a big way. So far he has had three successful singles, leaving fans wanting more. Now in exciting news, Pe$o recently announced the release of his latest single “Fly Away”, available for streaming and download on all major platforms. The new song not only shows cases Pe$o’s lyrical skills and a hot beat, but also showcases his development as a writer with Pe$o diving into what it’s like to live with depression and trust issues.
“I am very happy with my new release,” commented Pe$o. “I look forward to seeing what fans think of ‘Fly Away’. Personally, it is the favorite of my releases yet. Iused money and alcohol to cover up the scars and act as if depression and trust issues weren't there but no matter how drunk I got, even enough to fly away, the scars never disappeared. But no matter how much I got beat up and how many scars I had, I knew that if I fell I just had to get back up. ‘Fly Away’ tells this story.”
Previous singles from Pe$o include Illuminati, Diamonds Wet, and Clouded Era (featuring C. Maverick).
“Fly Away” is a song that is sure to create conversations beyond the usual rap release. Not only does it address Pe$o’s own struggles with depression and trust issues but also in how it is to deal with others facing these same kind of emotional problems. There’s no shortage of hip hop fans, and young people in general, who are having the same kind of experience – and a song like this may even help them get through to the other side.

Expect Pe$o to continue moving in this more thoughtful direction while still developing songs that hip hop fans love.

This project features production from producers all over the world but have all come together to make a cohesive collection of records. With tunes like First Name James, and A Man’s Ballad we get to really see the true talent the MC. Witty word play and descriptive imagery is found within every song 1 through 10. This release is aimed at the man or woman who is comfortable with who they are and not afraid to ask for what they want. JMS TMS said that a real man is an endangered species and it’s something that we have allow men to be and woman to see. Morals, ethics, and loyalty are not up for negotiation.

Toya Da Body’s style could be compared to Meg Thee Stallion, although they do have one major difference, Toya Da Body is pushing to be the first openly transgender Rapper/Hip-Hop/R&B artist to go mainstream.
Her personal favorite release “Sidepiece”, as she states “describes a GIRL LIKE ME, in a world full of men that secretly lust for a GIRL LIKE ME and being ok with accepting money and gifts from them”, you can already tell she’s proud, full of confidence, ready and able to achieve her goals.
Toya Da Body is set to drop the upcoming album “I’m Right Here” and in anticipation to that release, today she drops her 3rd single “Talk Dat Shit”. “Talk Dat Shit” features Nesh & Twinflesha with production by DaBeatKnocker and as soon as the beat drops you can tell she’s inspired by the likes of Lil Kim, Trina, and Missy Elliot. “Talk Dat Shit” makes it clear that there is no time for anything but getting rich! Although Toya da Body started recording about two and ½ years ago, she makes it clear that if you want it bad enough and fight for it, you can do it. Be on the lookout for the album “I’m Right Here”; a great addition to your playlist and in the meantime stream, purchase, and support “Talk Dat Shit” on all music outlets.

Her list of credits stems from serving as a professionally trained singer/songwriter, event host & MC, voice-over professional, model, actress, and dancer. Her first EP, entitled ”Split Decisions", was an appetizer to her larger goal of releasing a full album. Now RM continues to keep her audience entertained with her second project and first-ever album release entitled “Geminii Life".
Her sound speaks to a generation of listeners that embrace R&B Soul, Hip Hop, Pop, and Alternative Rock. If Rozetta Marie had to pick a favorite style and genre of music, it would be R&B/Soul. Her sultry voice is inspired by Mary J Blige, Anita Baker, and Rihanna, K. Michelle, and Jasmine Sullivan. Her lyrics are clever and expressive and depict an artist who is ready to shine.
Highlights of her career include working with Dr. Dre on various platforms, and opening up for artists such as Uncle Murda, China Mac, Dipset artist Vado, Chris Rivers (Big Pun's son), and gospel artist Vicki Winans. She has also had several of her music added to syndicated radio platforms, and continues to travel all over the country performing at various showcases and festivals such as SXSW and Launch Music Fest, and featuring on tour with other artists. Her most noted single “Geminii Juice” is set to debut in September as is considered her breakout hit of the summer.

That remix has accumulated a million plays on Spotify and the track became part of a viral craze on Instagram (#promiseforkeeps), featuring some of the biggest stars from NBC hit show World of Dance. Also hugely popular was another single, All Night Long, featuring Gyptian and Rico Tayla and Somewhere Far, which has racked up an enormous 7 million streams since its release last August. Somewhere Far topped the Spotify Charts and was featured on Chill Hits, Brand New Chill, Pop Relax, No Stress, Wochenende and went viral 50 in 8 Countries. His last single release, Go, also notched up streams in the millions and was featured in the Top 20 on Music Weeks Commercial Pop Club Charts. This latest track, Turn Me Up, is a return to the very successful collaborative relationship with Gyptian after the purely solo releases of Somewhere Far and Go. Gyptian has over 1.4 million Spotify monthly listeners and almost 100 million Streams on his hit song "Hold Ya".
Turn Me Up starts with laid back, gently insistent triplet-based synth rhythm and the three chord structure around which the song is built emerges, augmented by punchy and intricate percussion. This track lays down an infectious reggae-influenced vocal melody. The overall sound is distinctly dancehall with a strong Major Lazer vibe and their vocal performances are charismatic, with an exotic flavor. Lyrically, it’s about feeling intoxicated by someone (“It’s an inferno being around you....”) and this is perfectly reflected in the understated yet hypnotic music.
Overall, this is yet another excellent dancehall track by Matthew Schultz with a fine cameo by the gifted Gyptian and flawless, cutting edge production. With its languid, chilled out vibe and mesmeric rhythms it’s the perfect soundtrack for late summer and will no doubt become hugely popular once more both on the dancefloor and on streaming sites. After several hugely successful singles behind him, Turn Me Up sounds like another smash that will be particularly appealing to fans of Major Lazer and Tory Lanez.
Matthew Schultz Track Quote: "Turn Me Up" is an excellent dancehall raggae-influenced track by Matthew Schultz & Gyptian with hypnotic synths and punchy percussion. With it's languid, chilled out dance vibe and mesmeric rhythms it’s the perfect song for radio, streaming & clubs.

The word “STRIPES”, may have derived from the military, denoting one’s enlisted rank according to his or her particular rank or position... But this, STRYPEZ refers to one local Georgia native who shed light on his southern hip-hop style and underlying persona through music. Brandon Lee, from (Hinesville, Georgia), STRYPEZ, [pronounced “Stripes”], has a firm grasp on the different levels of creativity it takes when putting together impressive works of musical art. His southern rap style was influenced by contrasting forms of Crunk and Bounce music.
Strypez is currently in the studio working on his mixtape; Take Flyght: FIRST IN FLYGHT, which is set to drop soon. His first release off his upcoming project titled “Colorado” has been released virally and has gained grounds with both mainstream and underground audiences. Strypez has put together a compelling group of producers and artists to comprise this anticipated project. Between constant admiration and his gain of widespread popularity the rapper is definitely on his way to stardom.
The up and coming artist was initially introduced to the music scene back in 2004 when he performed at a Car & Bike show called “Summer Slam” in Midway, Georgia, alongside another local artist. His talents where noticed by A&R, Odom “DaTrappa” Dingle, who at the time worked for A1 Recording formerly known as Rocky Road Records located in Atlanta, Georgia. After a couple years of shadowing Atlanta’s hip-hop scene Strypez went on to release his first debut mixtape “Obey the Game”, hosted by DJ J3 in 2007. He has been featured on ThisIs50.com and many major blog sites for his works.
Success for Strypez is to be measured by the obstacles from which he has overcome. The energetic rapper is definitely building up a reputation as an artist to keep your dial tuned in anticipation for what drops next. With only a few months closing in fast for his projected release of “Take Flyght” the mixtape he is definitely in the driver seat with nothing but wide open road ahead.

The film, and this album, documents Speech’s journey to the Richmond City Jail, where he conducted music workshops with inmates. His goal was to shed light on the complex issues in our criminal justice system by bringing the voices and stories of incarcerated people to a larger audience. Not only does this album succeed in that goal, it showcases the incredible artistic skill held by these men, whose stories speak to much larger issues – and who are only 4 of the 2.2 million incarcerated people of America.
“Inspire” is the first single from this album, by rapper Teddy Kane. Here, Teddy tells his story framed within the issues that plague our nation. In spite of the unaddressed struggles that exist for him and his community in Jackson Ward, and for countless others around the country, he throws a hail mary of hope. His raps are pure, raw emotion and honesty, with a flow and cadence comparable to 2Pac. We’re left with the heartbreaking story of a man, an indictment of the system that creates this suffering, and an inspiration for all of us to do something greater. While recording “Inspire” with Speech in Richmond City Jail, Teddy envisioned a children’s choir to sing the chorus – and that’s exactly what Speech made happen.

New Release >> MERK THE LYRICAL TANTRUM An Exclusive 1 on 1 w. Breezy Says + "SO LOUD" FT SKIP of UTP
Welcome to Mollie's World, Merk The Lyrical Tantrum (The Breezy Says Hot Seat)
BS: We hear you are from New Orleans and are also deep rooted in California...tell us a little bit about how it is mixing the two very different regions?
MERK: Mixing the regions together gave me an advantage. I learned the business in California and the passion for music came from New Orleans. The transition was not hard because Oakland is deeply rooted in black culture as well as New Orleans. I came up in Oakland Deeply Rooted, the real black Panthers. Going into the music scene I knew was going to have a sound no one else had with the Jazz background and Oakland laid back sound. Neworlafornia started as a way of life and turned into a company. Mixing New Orleans street savvy with Oakland pimp savvy created another swag that didn't exist.
BS: You've worked with many artists that have passed on and some that are still with us, how does the experience of loss make you feel about current collaborations?
MERK: When it's a personal relationship I appreciate the collaboration because that can be our last time seeing each other.
BS: Your new video "So Loud" features Skip of UTP and was tapped in California, this is a great example of mixing both areas you rep; do you see this as something that sets you apart from others and can eventually bring more artists together?
MERK: Most definitely, I network with a lot of California artists and have brought a lot of New Orleans and California artists together to collaborate because of personal relationships with artists in both regions. I'm the middleman that brings everyone together.
Lets pause for a moment and check out the "So Loud" video ft Skip of UTP
Back To The Hot Seat
BS: What can we expect from your new album "International Ghetto Pass" that is different from your previous work?
MERK: My previous work was more personal. International Ghetto Pass shows my vast areas of networking across the country. This album solidify my networking status. I reached out to all my allies outside New Orleans.
BS: Any advice or words of wisdom for artists come up behind you?
MERK: It's not as easy as it looks. If you're going to be serious about it you have to have the determination and the will to be successful. You have to have patience. Dealing with music it can take years to be seen or heard in some instances. You have to be willing to sacrifice for what you want. Just know everything you see on tv and hear on the radio is only 10% of the business. Build your brand and stand by it. My company been relevant for 20 years and I only been recognized for the past 9 years. Be unique and make sure you have your own sound. Too many sprite and 7Up rappers, you can't tell them apart.
BS: Is there anything you want to let the people know that we have not touched on?
MERK: Be on the lookout for Neworlafornia Films, we're definitely doing movies now. Always give back to the community that molded you. Stay Humble at all times because nobody wants to work with arrogant or big headed people.
BS: Any shoutouts?
MERK: S/O to everybody who support me and my brand. I'm going to keep the heat coming and won't let y'all down.
