[Video] Crisis901 (@thebatman81) - May Day Remix Ft. J Trillz, Champ, Twuan G, and Fridae Blaque

I'm not the average rapper. I'm not your average singer. I'm not your average poet. I'm not your average thinker. My earliest memories in music were illustrations of me at school lunch tables spitting to fit in only to find out that my talent is too vast to conform to any mold they could cast me in. I grew up singing in the church so music has been in me my whole life. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN with every opportunity to become the same strand of poison infecting my city with negativity, but instead, I used my desire for change and protecting good music positively. Growing up i still showed love to my city's pioneers like 3 6 Mafia, Project Pat, and Playa Fly, but I draw inspiration from all music. I enjoy everything from acoustic rock to the grittiest of Dubstep. That versatility is what gives my music that fresh sound that we all long for. Music is the voice of the people, so expect me to speak for those whose voices are deafened by the roars of Mainstream conformity. After teaming up with MSG 98+2 & The Agency, Crisis901 is slated to be a force....... #CallMe901 #IamMemphis #ForeverMusic #Undisputed #Mobstarz #TheAgency www.crisis901.com Facebook: www.facebook.com/Crisis901 Twitter: @thebatman81 Instagram : @Crisis901

Spotlight on Moneyy (@MoneyIGotEm)

Larry Gray, better known by his stage name Moneyy, is an American rapper and recording artist from Norfolk, Virginia. He’s also known as one third of the music group Nclusive where his career began. In 2012 Moneyy was arrested on gun and drug possession charges but was released late 2013 after serving 8 months in prison. Upon his release he finally decided to focus on recording music that he wrote while being away from home. Since this was the only thing that kept him away from trouble, it was only right to continue making music. In 2014 Moneyy began recording an extensive amount of records daily, from R&B to Trap or southern hip hop sounds. Currently he’s working on his EP release “Wat you playin 4” featuring the hit single “Feelin’ it” which is expected to drop late Summer 2015.

[Video] Veronica Vega (@VeronicaVega) - Pay Me + Mp3

Super producer Polow Da Don and DJ Siobhan Bell teamed up to release the track titled, “Pay Me,” featuring IAMIAMI. “Pay Me” is an uptempo bass heavy track that includes a sample from Lyn Collins’ 1972 song, “Think (About It).” The sample is most notably recognized in the late 1980s hit, “It Takes Two,” by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock. Bell boasts the bravado of a male throughout the track with her hard-hitting lyrics and witty punch lines. Serving as an ode to males to step their game up (“Can’t make it rain dubs get the f— out the club”) and also for females to keep their men close by, (Imma bad b—-, and ya girl ain’t s—), this track will have the club turned up for the remainder of the summer for sure. Bell hails from London and since 2010, she has covered a considerable amount of ground on the music scene. Dabbling in different genres, including trap, R&B and house has made her a mainstay in her hometown. Polow has enjoyed success on a number of fronts while producing for stars such as Keri Hilson, Usher, Chris Brown, Mario and Ester Dean. His record with Ester Dean, “Drop It Low,” is also sampled in “Pay Me” as well. “ ‘Pay Me’ is a female anthem for the club. It allows women to say how they really feel under the disguise of a party record,” Polow stated. “It has an old-school Miami feel to it, it’s fun.” Recently, Polow received a new deal with Epic Records, which experienced a resurgence thanks to LA Reid. Be on the look out for more music from Siobhan Bell and also for more music from Polow Da Don as he has produced three new tracks on Ciara’s upcoming album.

[Single] Q-Xtra (@qxtra) - Work

Forget what you've seen on television. Forget whatever situation your mind conjures when you hear the words "Jersey Shore." Think dark…think bleak. Think dilapidated buildings and the projects. Have we painted a picture of Asbury Park, NJ for you yet? But there must be something in the water here at this forgotten ghost town, where the streets are mean and the buildings are abandoned. It seems that nearly every big name in the music industry has made a pilgrimage to this seaside neighborhood where the "hood meets the ocean shore," at some point in their careers, from natives Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi, to The Doors, Morrison and even Hendrix. Birthed by these streets and raised by this neighborhood, the stage has been set for hip hop music's next big name: Q-Xtra, born Corey Al-Meen Laquan Easterling.

[Single] Global Not Local (@GlobalNotLocal) - Watch Out

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA—It wasn’t that long ago that Jordan Goodrow-Jones, who goes by the name Global Not Local when performing, left the small-town life in Michigan for life in the fast lane on the Las Vegas strip. So far the move across the country has only catapulted his music career to the next level. “The change of the scenery has been amazing. Back home in Michigan, there’s just grass and trees everywhere. Out here in Vegas, it’s completely different. It’s amazing,” stated the talented rapper. For the last year and a half, the Michigan native has been working extra hard on this first commercial EP titled “It’s My Pleasure.” The seven-track project will be released later this summer. “One time I was at a Cheese Cake Factory, the waitress just gave me the food and said ‘It’s my pleasure.’ I was thinking, ‘Hold up. That’s catchy.’ It sounds different but then I started to expand from it,” he stated. For the young artist, he says his latest project is reminiscent of the music from the movie “300” with a little hip hop flavor added in the mix. “The intro is dark-heavy. You have your eyes closed and you’re just in deep thought. That’s the vibe of the music. It has power to it. It’s more cinematic,” he stated. The first single off the new EP is a catchy track called “Watch Out.” According to Global Not Local, the song takes a jab at his ex-girlfriend. “Before I came out to Vegas I had a girlfriend I had a long term relationship. I came here to Vegas and I was out here for a year and some stuff happened,” he stated. “In the song I say ‘I had a girl for five years. I was gone for five months, and she f*cked five different dudes. Now doesn’t that sound like a slut?’” So far, he says his ex has yet to hear the song. Along with the release of his latest project, his original music score can be heard at the upcoming Gladiators Live: Sanginem—a live entertainment show in Vegas. “One day I was hanging with my Uncle who worked at Tournament Of Kings, when Steven (Phenager) the creator of Gladiators Live: Sanguinem came up to me. They liked my music, and the rest is history,” stated Global Not Local. “It’s an amazing feeling to have my music featured in the show. It’s cool to know that I don’t even have to do anything. I can just sit back and watch people and see how the music keeps this amazing perception of the show going.”

Although this is his debut commercial EP to the world, don’t expect it to be his last. Global Not Local says he’s on a mission to take his music to the next level and prove the haters wrong. To learn more about the up-and-coming rapper, check him out on BandCamp.com, Facebook and Twitter.

[Video] Soda Boy (@SodaBoyMusic) - Now or Never

MINNEAPOLIS, MN—Soda Boy has plenty to smile about these days. After the recent debut of his new single “Now or Never,” fans can’t seem to get enough of it. “Throughout my whole career, I’ve never had a negative response to my music,” explained Soda Boy. “So I’m very pleased with how people are responding to the track.” Soda Boy says the new single is essentially about making things happen for yourself—rather than waiting for someone to make them happen for you. “A lot of people talking about doing things in their life all the time, but they never do it. The only way you’ll know the outcome is if you try,” explained Soda Boy. “That’s basically what ‘Now or Never’ is about—taking the initiative to do things yourself.” And that’s exactly what Soda Boy is doing. “It took everything I had to put together this project,” he stated. “This is basically my baby. This my debut to the world.” Soda Boy is much more than a rapper, too. He’s a producer, song writer and promoter. His latest single comes from his brand new mixtape titled “Rap is my Trap.” “The title came from the fact that rap is about a different way of making money,” stated Soda Boy. “I’m letting them know you don’t have to sell drugs, gang bang, rob and steal in real life—you can do it on a record as long as you know what you’re doing.” So far, his latest project is performing extremely well online, and he says he hopes to keep that momentum going for as long as possible. “My single has been doing really good online. It’s had about 70,000 plays on the actual single and that’s not doing any promotions,” stated Soda Boy. Influenced by artists like Too Short, Lil’ Wayne, Jay-Z and P. Diddy—Soda Boy says he was born to rap, doing it professionally for the last five years. “My latest mixtape has a little swing to it. Minneapolis is like a melting pot. People don’t move to Chicago. They don’t move to Detroit. They don’t move to Milwaukee. They move to Minneapolis, MN. We get a taste of everything,” explained Soda Boy. According to Soda Boy, in the next five years he sees himself becoming an entertainment mogul. “I see myself as the Jay-Z of my state. I see myself as the P. Diddy of my city. I see myself as a label force that brings out real good talent. I am the new, now and the next,” stated Soda Boy. To learn more about Soda Boy, visit him on his website at sodaboymusic.com.
