[Video] Petra Jarrar - Glamour Girl

Petra Jarrar, 18, is a brand new artist to watch for. With her upcoming EP release slated for a fall release, the talented singer is on a mission to make upbeat tracks music lovers can both dance and relate to. NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK—When this Connecticut native isn’t busy pursuing her political degree at an NYC college, she is diligently working hard on her music career. So far, it seems to be paying off. Already, her first single titled “Glamour Girl” has been generating positive reviews since its recent release. “Ever since I released that song, people have been messaging me, emailing me and telling me how great the song is,” stated Petra. “I never anticipated so many people to say so many nice things about the song. I’m just really excited to see what’s going to happen next. The song is basically about someone who makes you feel so special you don’t need anything in the world but that person.” With her sound reminiscent to the musical styles of Meghan Trainor, Adele and Amy Winehouse, Petra recently debuted the video to “Glamour Girl” on YouTube. Petra described the fun video as her official introduction to the world.” “It felt really surreal on my first day of the shoot. My mother made all of the costumes for the video. I had a very particular image that I wanted to create. I wanted my look to match the sound. It’s a very family oriented project. In the video, it just stars me in a lot of crazy costumes in and around NYC and Coney Island. I’m basically showing all of the different sides/colors of my personality,” explained Petra. Believe it or not, Petra says the inspiration to write “Glamour Girl” actually came while taking part in choir during mass. “I just had a lot of different thoughts, and I just etched this entire song one day while I was performing at a service,” Petra explained. “Those masses are very long and I sometimes sit there just daydreaming about different things.” According to Petra, she draws much of her musical inspiration from such talented artists as Adele, Amy Winehouse, Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey. Like them, she does more than just a pretty face behind a microphone. She is a one-woman-show. She is not only the singer of her own songs but the producer and musician. “Glamour Girl” is one of several tracks featured on Petra’s EP titled “Wonderland” which is scheduled for a fall release. She’s been in the studio working diligently on the project for the last two years. Many of the tracks will include lyrics about boys, relationships, being independent and adventurous. “In terms of my sound, my music is almost on the brink of retro pop but it also has a bubblegum feel to it. There’s definitely an old school sound to what I do. It’s modern enough to be mainstream, though,” stated Petra. “When people hear my music, I hope they can pause and have fun to get away from all of their troubles. I write my music to help me deal with things I’m going through, and hopefully it can help other people do the same.” In the future, Petra hopes to have the opportunity to perform all over the world, go on tour and put out a full-length album. [Mixtape] Zona Man (@zonaman72) - No Advance

Zona Man (@zonaman72), born Terrance George, is elevating from the city of Chicago, where he was born and raised, with his new mix tape “No Advance.” Taking his first steps of existence in the Robert Taylor public housing projects then later relocating to East side of Chicago- where he currently resides. Zona Man is from humble beginnings, manipulating many paths & driving several lanes in life- Zona found himself in a web of unpleasant encounters. Being a young black man on the streets of Chicago is an unrelenting place and Zona found himself at a point of no return, until he was forced to turn his life around. In 2008 Zona Man was shot by a Chicago Police Department officer and falsely charged and tried. Subsequently the charges were dropped due to a lack of evidence. Zona utilized these accusations & time away as state property to recalculate how he’d maneuver his walk with life. In spite of the fact that he hadn’t continued on with a formal education, he still found ways to illuminate his mind & optimistically self motivate. Keeping the negative energy of the streets to the left, Zona was destined to take that right road life offered. He decided to conform to a more favorable life to ensure his longevity and protect his livelihood for his children & family. > > Zona Man always had a passion for music & poetics; merging the two- he tapped into his God given talent & musically began to destroy life’s demons. Zona took this second chance at life and forged full force ahead, focusing & channeling all energy into his music which he describes as “hustle/inspiration music”. He got back into the studio in 2013 and his hard work led him to working with top producers such as: Metro Boomin, Jazzy Pha, Young Chop, Southside 808 Mafia to name a few. In 2014 Zona Man was featured on the “Honest Tour” with rap super star Future– who discovered his music through Sound Cloud; he was also featured on Future’s new mixtape “Gangland” as well as the Bigga Rankin Coast to Coast tour. He is currently working on multiple projects including; his mixtape “No Advance” and “Kidnapping for Beats” where in his words he is “going Zona on some of the hottest industry beats out.” Writing to mock his wrongs, make an example out if it in song, ultimately putting his city- Chicago on his back. Making it a part of his load to carry, divide, & conquer. >

TnK (@iamthenewking_) aka "The New King" and music go hand and hand, he began writing at 8, recording at 12, and performing at 13.
